I always wanted to live in a world where Summer never ends. A meteorological version of Dorian Gray, with beautiful sunny days and amazing warm nights.

A Greendian Summer thats starts early in March and ends somewhere in October, and then starts again. This way we won’t feel the passage of time and, like Oscar Wilde’s character, we will never grow old. In fact, that’s the message that a lot of advertising campaigns and films like The Expendables and RED series inoculate. Superheroes in their 60’s, Supermodels in their 40’s, are all now on the covers of fashion magazines. And I have to mention here the news that became a Twitter frenzy last week , when Helen Mirren was nominated as one of the sexiest actress alive. And she is 69 YO! Amazeballs!

So, we are living a neverending youth? Or it’s just the beginning of something that we can’t explain right now, and we don’t know how this will affect our future?
It’s easy to see now that people starts having children in their 40’s. Thanks to modern medicine, our biological alarm clocks don’t chime the alert at 29 anymore. Also, nobody thinks now at marriage in their early 20′. Being a first time bride when you are over 40’s is not a shame anymore. Many brands use now mature persons as their image, the travel agencies are more and more focussed on the retired people, even the fashion designers reactivated trends that we’re so en vogue in the ’80s and 90’s, when their clients we’re listening Nirvana and dancing on Madonna’s hits.

It seems that we are ready to live a neverending youth. Even if this Indian Summer will end soon. We are forever young.

Întotdeauna mi-am dorit să trăiesc într-o lume în care vara nu se termină niciodată. O versiune meteorologice a lui Dorian Gray, cu zile vesnic insorite și nopți calde uimitoare.
O vară care începe la începutul lunii martie și se termină undeva în luna octombrie, și apoi începe din nou. În acest fel, nu vom simți trecerea timpului și, la fel ca personajul lui Oscar Wilde, nu vom îmbătrâni. De fapt, acesta este mesajul pe care o mulțime de campanii publicitare și filme, cum ar fi seriile  „The Expandables” și „RED – Greu de pensionat” ni-l inoculeaza. Supereroi la 60 de ani,  Supermodele de 40 de ani, toti apar acum pe copertile revistelor glossy. Și am să menționez aici vestea ce a provocat o frenezie pe Twitter saptamana trecuta, atunci cand Helen Mirren a fost nominalizata ca fiind una dintre cele mai sexy actrite in viata. Iar Helen are 69 de ani! Felicitari!

Deci, trăim deja o tinerețe fara sfarsit? Sau e doar începutul a ceva ce nu putem explica chiar acum, și nu știm cum va afecta viitorul nostru?

Este ușor de văzut că oamenii încep să aibă copii abia dupa 40 de ani. Datorita medicinii moderne, ceasurile noastre biologice nu mai pornesc alarma la 29 de ani. De asemenea, nimeni nu se gandeste acum la căsătorie la 20 de ani. Sa fi mireasa pentru prima data, atunci cand ai deja peste 40 nu mai este o rușine. Multe branduri folosesc persoane mature ca imagine a lor, agențiile de turism sunt din ce in ce mai interesate si orientate cu programe spre pensionari, chiar si designerii de moda au reactivat tendințe care erau atât de în vogă în anii ’80 și ’90, atunci când clienții lor ascultau Nirvana și dansau pe hit-urile Madonnei.

Se pare că suntem pregătiți deja să trăim o tinerețe fără sfârșit. Chiar dacă această vara indiana se va termina în curând. Noi vom fi vesnic tineri.
